Veronica – Office Manager
Veronica ensures our practice runs smoothly throughout the day and behind-the-scenes. With a positive mindset and beaming smile, she wants to help you have an excellent experience during your time at Eye Surgeon Direct. She handles any issues you have professionally and expediently. She is experienced with insurance and billing issues. Best of all, she is one of the kindest most caring individuals you will encounter.
Danya and Sandi– Opticians at Stone Oak iWear
With a smile that lights up the room and boundless energy, Danya will help you select glasses that work best for your beautiful facial features and lenses that best suit your prescription and individual visual needs. When Danya is out, Sandi is there for you. Sandi is experienced, talented, and you will love working with her as well.
Arleth – Front Desk Receptionist
Arleth is one of the first people to greet you! As soon as you walk in, she'll get you checked in and set up for your appointment. Knowing that first impressions mean a great deal, she can multitask with ease and ensure patients feel comfortable over the phone or in-person when scheduling appointments. She can handle all front office duties and fully address your needs and concerns.
Bernice – Front Desk Receptionist
Following your appointment with Dr. Held, Bernice can assist you with all your checkout needs. Always caring and ready with a big smile, from scheduling follow-up appointments to imaging and surgery, Bernice is a friendly team member who is ready to ensure you feel taken care of throughout your visit.
Lina – Insurance Verification and Debi- all-around staffer
As another wonderful behind-the-scenes team member, Lina stays on top of the latest billing and payment issues. She has been working with Dr. Held for over 20 years. While Dr. Held and Eye Surgeon Direct is direct pay, she can help you with questions about your insurance, such as out - of-network co-pays and deductibles, to ease your struggle with payment or budget issues. Debi has worked with Dr. Held for the past 10 years and is transitioning from front desk to back office. She is smart, cheerful, and can do it all. She is currently scribing for Dr. Young.
Zoey – Front Desk Receptionist
Zoey, our newest staff member, helps with patient check in and helps answers calls in a professional and timely manner. As one of the first members to talk to new and current patients, she understands this importance and strives to provide, personal compassionate service.
Claudia – Contact Lens Technician
Informative and patient, Claudia specializes in all things related to contact lenses. After receiving a treatment plan and prescription information from Dr. Held, Claudia is our go-to person for contact lenses and will help with things, like showing new contact wearers how to put in lenses, performing diagnostic tests, and training other technicians to provide high-quality care.
Kristie and Itzel – TechnicianS
Our two newest team members are Kristie and Itzel. Kristie has already become a patient favorite because of her compassion and expertise. Not only that, she comes to us with years of experience under her belt in the eye industry and is ready to jump in and help with anything. Itzel is kind and caring,consistent, and detail-oriented. She will make you feel comfortable throughout your entire experience in the office.
Melanie – Technician
With a bright smile and a lovely laugh, Melanie is a wonderful member of our technician team. She brings years of experience that is complemented by a caring personality.
Gina – Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist
Dr. Held and Gina have worked together for over 20 years. Gina is a certified ophthalmic medical technologist and is our lead diagnostic testing coordinator. She helps patients throughout their imaging and diagnostic testing before seeing Dr. Held. With decades of experience, she is an encyclopedia of eye care knowledge and can answer all your questions with ease.
Kevin – Certified Ophthalmic Assistant/Scrub Tech
Dr. Held has worked with Kevin for over 20 years in the clinic and in the operating room. As her primary assistant in the operating room, Kevin will help you from beginning, during, and to the end of your experience from pre-op, intra-op to post-op. He assists with pre-operative exams and measurements for patients who need eye surgery. He is experienced, precise, knowledgeable, and one of the most engaging, pleasant people you will ever meet. You will feel well-cared for and comfortable in his presence. His measurements and surgical assistance are top-notch.
