Cornea diseases and disorders impact the top portion of the eye called the cornea, which has the critical job of refracting and bending light.

If you have keratoconus, the cornea weakens and causes it to bulge and become cone-shaped, creating gradually blurry vision that requires treatment.

Known as a surfer’s eye, pterygium is a condition that causes a small benign growth in the corner of the eye. If it expands, it can damage the cornea.

A detailed examination of the retina through a dilated pupil can assist in detecting damage that can cause permanent visual loss.
